2nd Corinthians 9:11
11” You will be made rich in every way so
that you can be generous on every occasion,
and through us, your generosity will result
in thanksgiving to God.”
There is a special time in our
church that our focus for everyone is to GROW and MATURE in the area of giving.
Thanksgiving is not a FUNDRAISING program, but a FAITH RISING vision taking,
discipleship training, this is probably the BEST DISCIPLING process we have in
His Life. We are encourage and challenge to Worship and Honor God for who He
is, and to remember God’s faithfulness in our lives that will result in giving
the best that we can give to God.
God is a God of blessings
because He knows that, it has always been our desire to live a blessed life. We
always long to have a life filled with joy. To be blessed by the Lord is one of
our heart’s desires. There are at least 169 verses in the Bible that refer to
the ways God provides for us. One is found in Philippians 4:19 “My God will
supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Notice from our campaign text
God’s Part:
1. He supplies the seed.
2. He increases your store.
3. He enlarges the harvest.
4. He enriched you in every
way.
Our part is to sow the seed,
be generous in our harvest on every occasion knowing that as we give freely
this will result in thanksgiving to God. So as far as God is concerned, He
already gave us what we need to be generous. We have to understand that
generosity is more of an attitude than the act of giving and our attitude of
gratitude and generosity is more important than what we do. The act of
generosity then should be an OVERFLOW of a heart that loves God and others.
God’s part is that we are made rich in every way so that you can be generous on
every occasion.
Thanks Giving help us gain a
right perspective on our possessions. We realize they were never really ours,
to begin with, - He who supplies seed- but they were given to us by God to be
generous to others. It is our desire for everyone to grow and mature in the
area of giving and in this overflowing thanksgiving is the best way to start.
Be excited this coming Sunday,
December 3!
