You LEAD

Matthew 4:9
19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

One key biblical principle of leadership is that, (for the upcoming leaders) they must first do what they called and asked to do by their trusted leaders who are demonstrating to them how to live and act. When our Lord Jesus began His ministry and teaching, He began to gather disciples, who should be hearers, and afterwards preachers of His teachings, learners who should be witnesses of His miracles, and afterwards testify concerning it. His disciples that will later make disciples.

                                                   Application
Be an Apprentice first and learn as much as you can!

YOU LEAD is all about submitting to your leaders to learn and be disciples so that in the end you will take the role of a leader when you are sent.

Numbers 27:18-23
“So the LORD said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him; and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and commission him in their sight. "You shall put some of your authority on him, in order that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey him.”

Paul, Peter, James, Jude, and the early disciples saw themselves as servants of our Lord Jesus Christ. Their lasting influence came from dedicating their lives to serve others in Jesus’ name. If you wish to lead as our Lord Jesus lead, learn to submit first to God’s delegated leaders in your life and imitate them as they faithfully follow Christ.

A godly leader does not conform to the status quo, but sets the standard for others to follow. A leader who follows Christ leads by example. That is why, Paul can confidently challenge the Corinthians to follow him, as he followed Christ. (1 Cor. 11:1).

SUBMISSION COMES BEFORE AUTHORITY.
Our Lord Jesus the greatest leader of all, shows how He had submitted to the will of His Father, took a towel and washed his disciples’ feet. When he finished, he said, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” That’s leadership!
