Where is God in your life?
What is He doing in your life today? What can you point to that says, “God is
at work?”
These are the same questions
asked by Israel during their exile in Babylon, it seemed as if God had
abandoned his people. It was during their darkest hour that God introduced
himself as Jehovah Shammah, The Lord is There. “Jehovah Shammah” only appears
once in the Old Testament. In Ezekiel 48:35, the Israelites are building the
new Jerusalem, which God instructs will be named “Jehovah Shammah.” The city
itself reminds the people that God is present.
It tells us that God is present among his
people. While the name brings great comfort, it also calls for self‑examination.
God wants to bless your life. He wants to give it for free because Jesus paid
for it already. The only thing that He requires is that we put our faith in Him
through Jesus Christ. However, there are challenges that will really test the
limits of our trust in Him. This is true when we are confronted with tough and
difficult situations.
REMEMBER THIS:
1. Temptation
will test our obedience to God.
2. Problems
will test our Trust in God.
3. Persecutions
will test our perseverance with God.
4. Richest
and abundance will test our Loyalty to God.
Dealing with life’s pressures
is a daily struggle that we need to win in order to grow in this fast-paced
life, and with all the sufferings and troubles around us, it seems that
everybody has lost hope for the bright future.
But the key to sustaining peace and faith is found in the truth that God
is there, and no matter what situation we are in, God is our Shammah. Today, as
we remember the resurrection of our Lord
Jesus, we know that Christ has been and will be the same today and forever. In a changing world we can trust our
unchanging Lord. So it all depends how
you read our title today, God is no where or God is now here? May His presence
fill your heart today!
