Investing In The Kingdom

Ecclesiastes 11:1

"1 Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return."

This is a challenge of faith, shipping your grain when you don’t know what will be the conditions the ship will be facing, yet there is promised that it will return.  Your crop may go bad, local markets may dry up, and by shipping some of your crops abroad you may be able to make a fair profit—or not.   Life involves both risk and opportunity; we need a spirit of trust and adventure, facing life’s risks and opportunities with

God-directed enthusiasm and faith. We can do this in faith because we believe that SOMEONE is greater than we, that's our God has the ability to work in and through us. This is faith in action. God asks us to live in faith instead of fear in order to advance His kingdom.

Reflection

1.      What is it that keeps you from moving forward?

2.      Is it the fear of failure, embarrassment, or rejection?

3.      Is it the uncertainty of the outcome that stops you?

Gracious Act of Giving – Stewardship Scripture

 1 Chronicles 29:11-12

11” Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.”
