Come He (Jesus) said...
Matthew 14:28-31 NIV
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29“Come,” said Jesus. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.… 30But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter…
How often we face challenges in life that we ask the Lord for assurance that “is it you, Lord?” The boat may be a considerable distance from where the Lord is and the Bible said that it is battered by the waves, but in the Lord, there is no such thing as distance, we may not felt His presence at the moment when problems and trains battered us but He knows what we are going through.
There may be waves of circumstance that battered you, but you can be sure that He will be there and all you have to do is to come. The Lord will assure you that He is standing beside you. But the big question is: will you try to step out on the wave with Jesus, facing all the challenges in your life focusing only on Jesus and not on the waves? Or you will be overwhelmed by your waves that you start to sink and cry out to God?
Prayer:
Lord help me to focus on You alone and not on the waves that battered me every day. Thank you that every time the waves come to challenge me You are there standing beside me. Help me to focus only on You and not on the waves around me.
Amen
