The guidelines Jesus followed when He chose His TEAM of Twelve.

How the Lord Jesus choose His 12 that we can also apply as we choose our NEXT generation.

1. HE Prayed
Jesus spent all night in prayer. He had a prayer vigil. This is for Jesus a very important decision and recruitment He will be making. The very Son of God had an overnight prayer meeting! (Luke 6:12, 13)

2. HE CHOSE Faithful MEN.
Mark 1:16-18
And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then Jesus said to them, "Come after Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed Him.

3. HE CHOSE PEOPLE WITH A DESIRE TO Serve GOD.
John 1:35 - 42
The disciples always wanted to know more about the Master and, above all, their love for God made them follow Jesus.

4. HE CHOSE MEN WHO COULD BE Molded.
John 1:48-50
Nathaniel said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathaniel answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these." They need to be people who will let God deal with them and through whom God can do marvelous things. We are clay in the hands of God and He can do great things if we allow Him to.

5. HE Tested THEM
This means that through the difficult situations one can get to know what is in the heart of the disciples. (It's nothing to do with putting anyone down).
